Australia's Multicultural Migration Success: Migration Vision for the Future | Australia Immigration News

The Australian Government is pleased to release the report of the Multicultural Framework Review, marking the first major examination of Australian multiculturalism in a generation.

This comprehensive independent report, published, assesses the health of Australia's multicultural society and provides recommendations to strengthen it for future generations.

Australia’s last major review of multiculturalism occurred more than half a century ago. Since then, Australia has evolved into a nation welcoming people from nearly every country on Earth, with more than half of the population either born overseas or having at least one parent who was.

In preparing the report, a Panel of three eminent Australians traveled the country, consulting with over 1,430 individuals and 750 organizations, including community groups, in more than 200 events. The Review received 796 submissions in various community languages, written, audio, or video messages. Notably, 126 submissions were in languages other than English, showcasing a new and innovative approach to fielding submissions.

The executive summary is available in 33 languages on the Home Affairs website, ensuring accessibility for individuals regardless of their English proficiency.

To complement the release of the Review and the Government Response, the Australian Government has committed over $100 million to support a stronger multicultural Australia. This funding will invest in language services, enhance community engagement, and help multicultural organizations improve amenities and strengthen their service capacity for both community members and the broader society.

The Multicultural Framework Review will shape Australia's understanding of multiculturalism and inform future policy outcomes for years to come.

The Minister for Immigration, Citizenship and Multicultural Affairs emphasized the ongoing work needed to ensure all communities feel safe and proud of their identity, regardless of religious, ethnic, or cultural background.

The Review is seen as a new chapter in Australia’s multicultural story, promoting shared values of respect, unity, and compassion to guide the nation towards peace and understanding. The diversity of Australia is highlighted as its greatest strength, with the review showcasing a vision of a united and prosperous multicultural future.
