Important Update: Subclass 190 ROIs Now Exclusively Open to Gold Pass Candidates

This measure specifically impacts subclass 190 and will be effective for the remainder of the 2023-24 program period. However, Migration Tasmania plans to resume accepting ROIs from all eligible candidates for subclass 190 nomination once the 2024-25 Tasmanian Skilled Migration State Nomination Program begins, expected in July 2024.

It's essential to note that there are currently no restrictions on submitting ROIs for subclass 491 Skilled Work Regional visa nomination. If you're interested in subclass 491 nomination, please complete and submit an ROI for that subclass through the Application Gateway. Be aware that accepting the subclass 491 nomination will render you ineligible for the subclass 190 nomination in the future.

Alternatively, if you prefer subclass 190 nomination, you can choose to wait until the 2024-25 Tasmanian Skilled Migration State Nomination Program opens and then submit an ROI for subclass 190 nomination.

Considering alternative visa pathways is also advisable. You can find more information from the Department of Home Affairs or consult a registered migration agent or legal practitioner for guidance.

For Candidates with Existing ROIs:

Migration Tasmania aims to invite all current ROIs with a Green Pass designation to apply for nomination. However, due to fewer than 100 subclass nomination places remaining for the 2023-24 program, invitations or nominations may not be issued until the 2024-25 program year begins.

It's important to know that subclass 190 ROIs already submitted and allocated a Green Pass will remain valid until an invitation to apply for nomination is issued.

If you've already submitted an ROI for subclass 190 nomination and need to update it to claim additional priority attributes, please contact Migration Tasmania at skilled@migration.tas.gov.au.

Updates to subclass 491 ROIs can only be made by withdrawing the ROI and submitting a new one with the updated claims. This process will not impact the time it takes to receive an invitation to apply for nomination.
