Skills in Demand Visa: TRA Skills Assessments

Key Updates on the New Skills in Demand (SID) Visa

Trades Recognition Australia (TRA) continues to serve as the official assessing authority for 23 occupations requiring skills assessments under the new Skills in Demand Visa (Core Skills stream). Applicants seeking a skills assessment for occupations where TRA is the designated authority must apply through the Temporary Skills Shortage (TSS) skills assessment program.

Important Details for Applicants:

  • TSS Applications from 7 December 2024: Any TSS skills assessment applications received from this date onward will also be assessed for the Skills in Demand visa.

  • Pre-7 December Applications: If you applied for a TSS skills assessment before this date and are awaiting results, consult the Department of Home Affairs to confirm whether the assessment remains necessary.
