Application Process Details
For online applications submitted on or after 12 am (AEST) on July 1, 2024, the new fees apply regardless of when the application process commenced. Payment methods include credit/debit cards, PayPal, or UnionPay, with applications considered upon fee receipt.
Paper applications must be received by the Department on or after July 1, 2024, to avoid the new fee. Postal submissions are dated upon receipt, not posting.
Important Notes
- Top-Up Payments: If pre-paid fees are insufficient to cover the new rate by July 1, 2024, applicants must use ImmiAccount to submit a 'top-up' payment to avoid application return.
Understanding these updates ensures your Australian citizenship application is processed smoothly under the revised fee structure effective July 1, 2024.
