Australia is proud to announce a collaborative migration agreement with the Malinauskas Labor Government. This initiative aims to enhance resources for schools and hospitals in regional areas and support the burgeoning technology sector in Adelaide. Under this new agreement,

up to 2000 roles will become available to regional employers outside of Adelaide, boosting the availability of care workers, nurses, and teachers in these communities and alleviating local labor shortages.

In Adelaide, the agreement facilitates the hiring of tech workers, fostering an environment ripe for growth, innovation, and the expansion of local businesses. This initiative will not only create more job opportunities for South Australians but also drive the state's economic advancement.

Furthermore, the Albanese Labor Government is eliminating unnecessary bureaucratic hurdles for employers by broadening the scope of job categories under this agreement and simplifying several employer requirements. New additions to the job list include bricklayers and other construction roles.

Both the Albanese and Malinauskas governments are committed to ensuring that migrant workers enjoy safe working conditions and fair wages and benefits.

Australia has pledged to continue its collaborative efforts in negotiating future South Australian agreements for 2024 and 2025, starting from July 2025, to keep the migration system aligned with the needs of South Australians.

Andrew Giles, Federal Minister for Immigration, Citizenship, and Multicultural Affairs Comments that, since taking office, Australia has been quick to address the immigration challenges neglected by the previous Liberal administration, including those under former Minister Dutton. We're now ushering in a new era where our immigration framework is simpler, more efficient, and equitable for South Australians.

The South Australian migration agreement is beneficial for local businesses, Australian workers, and the regional communities dependent on essential services often provided by newcomers.

Deputy Premier of South Australia Susan Close Comments that the demand for healthcare, aged care workers, and teachers in regional South Australia is unprecedented. This agreement is crucial for filling these critical positions.

Skilled migrants are vital to Australia’s regional educational institutions, aged care facilities, and hospitals, areas where local recruitment efforts have struggled to meet needs.

This agreement will also support South Australia's evolution into a high-tech manufacturing hub, providing employers with the essential skills required to thrive in major projects.
