South Australia's state-nominated skilled migration program for 2024-2025 is officially open, offering a range of opportunities for skilled professionals both onshore and offshore. The program supports the state's economic growth by filling skill shortages across various sectors, and the South Australian Skilled Occupation List is now available for review.

Onshore Streams

Eligible onshore applicants who meet the specific requirements can now submit a Registration of Interest (ROI) to participate in the program. The onshore streams cater to skilled professionals already residing in South Australia, providing them with pathways to state nomination.

  • Skilled Employment in South Australia Stream: This stream is designed for applicants who have demonstrated a commitment to South Australia by gaining work experience in their skilled occupation within the state.
  • South Australian Graduates Stream: Aimed at retaining graduates who have completed their studies and are working in South Australia, this stream allows them to continue contributing to the state's economy in their skilled occupation.
  • Outer Regional Skilled Employment Stream: This stream addresses skills shortages in South Australia's outer regional areas. Applicants working in these regions in their nominated or closely related occupation can apply for nomination through this pathway.

A total of 464 occupations are available for the onshore streams, ensuring a broad range of opportunities for skilled workers.

Offshore Stream

The offshore stream targets skilled professionals residing outside of Australia who possess skills that are in high demand in South Australia. Eligible candidates will be considered from their SkillSelect Expression of Interest (EOI), with successful applicants invited to apply for state nomination.

427 occupations are available for offshore applicants, providing a substantial number of opportunities for skilled migrants seeking to contribute to South Australia's workforce. Offshore invitation rounds are expected to occur regularly throughout the program year, starting from the program's opening and continuing at the end of each month from September 2024.

Business Innovation and Investment Program

Currently, South Australia is not accepting applications for state nomination under the Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) visa (subclass 188). However, business or investor migrants who already hold a provisional visa can apply for nomination for the extension stream or the permanent visa (subclass 888) if they meet the specified requirements.

Employer-Sponsored Programs

South Australia continues to support local employers who face challenges in filling vacancies from the local labor market. A range of employer-sponsored programs are available, helping businesses secure the skilled workforce they need.

Application Fees

The application fees for applying for South Australian nomination in the 2024-25 program year are available on the official Application Fees page. It is important to note that submitting a Registration of Interest does not incur a fee.
